Hello everyone!


We just posted some exciting photos and articles about what we've been doing this new year (2010). There is still a lot more stuff like the Sleepover and Olympics which we are working on a video form. Hope you enjoy it all.

PRAYER





Top 10 Places to Pray

1. On your bed in the morning before you get up
2. While you are taking a shower or a bath

Praise literally means to express a favorable judgment of or to glorify.
1 - We praise God by agreeing with Him about who He is. For example: "God You are holy, just, good and powerful." In praising God we not only acknowledge who He is but we also remind ourselves who He is.
2 - Thanksgiving means to give thanks for all that God has done. We often forget all the good things that the Lord has done for us and thanksgiving both expresses thanks to God and reminds us of what He has done.

3 - Confession is to agree with God regarding our sin, failures, and shortcomings. God already knows what we have done so in confessing our sin we are merely agreeing with Him about what we have done. God has forgiven us and paid the penalty for our sin through Jesus' death on the cross. Thus confession is an acknowledgement of our need for Jesus.
4 - Intercession means to pray for others. This is a powerful way we can love and help others. Often times there is little we can do to help others but prayer is a significant way we can impact their lives. There are many things we can pray for people: their salvation (for those outside the faith), protection, health, strength, growth in their faith, etc...
5 - Petition means to pray for yourself. Most of us have no trouble praying for ourselves as we recognize our great need and dependence upon the Lord. One thing we should all pray for ourselves is that God would help us become holy and to overcome temptation.

6 - Listening to God is important. Most of the time we do all the talking and miss what God is wanting to tell us. He does not force His way into our lives and thoughts, we must allow Him the opportunity. It is important to spend some time in silence just listening for God.
Now as we pray we may not cover all these elements each time we pray but we will certainly cover some of them. Generally the more you cover the richer your prayer experience will be.

DELICIOUS SMOOTHIES


STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHY

Ingredients:
. 1 Cup of milk
. 1 Cup water
. 1 package (10 ounces) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, partially thawed
. 1 mediun firm banana, cut into chuncks
. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
. 6 ice cubes

Directions:
In a blender combine all ingredients. Cover and process until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; served immediately. Yield: 4 servings.

PINEAPPLE SMOOTHY

. 1 1/2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
. 1 cup buttermilk
. 2 cups ice cubes
. 2 cans (8 ounces) unsweetened crushed pineapple
. 1/4 cup sugar

Directions
. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor; cover and process until smooth. Pour into glasses; serve immediately. Yield: 6 servings

Fun Treats For Your Skin

YOUR SKIN

. Mix natural yogurt with lemon juice and spread it on your skin. This one is good for all skin, not just your face. Lie back and relax for a while.

. Soak a washcloth or a small towel in hot water, wring it out, and place it over your face.

. Repeat this until your skin begins to glow.

YOUR HANDS

1 - Remove old nail polish with cotton balls dipped in nail polish remover.
2 - File your nails with an emery board
3 - Dip your hands into warm soapy water letting your nails soak for a few minutes
4 - Massage your hands with a moisturizing lotion

If you are going to use nail polish...

1 - Once your hands are clean put on a layer of base coat using three strokes to cover your whole nail (Base coat before the nail polish is important to prevent your nails from getting yellow)
2 - Put on two layers of nail polish allowing it to dry in between coats
3 - Add one layer of a sealer.
4 - Remember: It takes several hours for your nails to dry completely.

YOUR HAIR

1 - Wash your hair whenever is starts to feel oily. Some girls need to wash it daily, others weekly.
2 - Make sure you use the right kind of shampoo. It should be PH-balanced and for your type of hair (normal, dry, oily, fine)
3 - A serving about the size of a quarter is a good guideline.
4 - Once you spread the shampoo evenly over the wet hair massage it with your fingertips. Don't scratch your scalp.
5 - Use conditioner if your hair is dry, gets tangled,or has been damaged by hair dryers or curling irons. Just use enough to put on the ends of your hair.
6 - Have your hair trimmed every four to six weeks to get rid of split ends.
