What a wonderful time together!!

It was an afternoon packed with creativity, beautiful singing, lots of energy, yummy pizza and learning God's word.

We began with this cute art project: a devotional/prayer book. We know it was fun putting it together however the idea is for this little book to help you spend some time reading God's word and in prayer. Don't let it be one more book on your shelf. It's a book made by you, for you to enjoy and grow closer to the Lord. We'll decorate it a little more on November 7th, so make sure to bring it with you.

Didn't you all sound so wonderful as you sang "Holy is the Lord"? Well, we will be singing on November 21st at Presence. Please make a note of it. We have one more rehearsal on the 7th so don't miss it!

How about those games with coach Sara Bagwell? I'm sure those two games will help you remember what we learned from the YouthBytes video we watched:

Our Christian life is a race towards heaven.

As we race we need to develop endurance - We have to trust God to bring us across the finish line.

*We might fall down - We've got to pick ourselves up and continue to run. God will always bring someone to cheer and help us back up.

*We can't cheat our way to heaven.

*Winning is important but it is not always about winning. It's about how we run the race. God requires us to race through the principles he's placed inside of us: discipline, faithfulness, servanthood and sacrifice.

*Day after day, experience after experience, lap after lap trust in God and he "will complete the good work he has begun in us".

Saturday, October 24th - Arts & Crafts Meeting

Hello everyone,

Can you believe that it's been almost two weeks that we went apple picking? Time flies and we are now getting ready for our Arts & Crafts meeting. There will be games, choir rehearsal, a devotional and a cool project with Mrs Camillone and let's not forget a yummy snack too. In order to plan the project and snack accordingly please r.s.v.p to us via e-mail by tomorrow. Hope everyone is coming!!

If you checked books from the Mobile Library they are due this Saturday. Please bring them back so someone else can check them out.

Practice Holy Is The Lord. You all sounded great on that hay ride. Keep up the work!

Hello everyone!

Our meeting on Saturday went really well.We did a great job practicing Holy is The Lord with Lisa Lynne.We are off to a great start with the choir and we will let you know the date we'll be singing in Presence.

The girls watched a video titled Tiny Tears. This video shows Nikki's Place - Agape Home for babies and children with HIV/AIDS located on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, Thailand. We learned the inspiring story of a 14 year old girl named Bow. Bow was born HIV+ and with multiple facial deformities. We were all touched by the fact that despite all the challenges she faces Bow has a positive outlook on life.She has hopes and dreams. We were inspired by the love and commitment of Avis and Roy Rideout (founders of Nikki's Place) and amazed at what God is doing through their lives. We suggest you to check their web-site @ www.nikkisplace.org to learn more about this wonderful place. Also if you google Bow's story in Thailand you'll have a chance tho learn more about her.

We would like to thank Nancy Persons (the missionary from Thailand) who blessed us this week with wonderful stories of God's work in Thailand and for sharing the video with us.

We thought it would be fun for the girls to taste food from Thailand and most of them truly enjoyed it. We served spring rolls, vegetable dumplings and beef/chicken satay. As usual they were very hungry!

Apple Picking!

It was one of the best outings we've had. Although it wasn't a sunny day, God blessed us with the warmth that comes from being in a circle of friends. The girls laughed, prayed, worshiped and of course played together throughout the morning.
They sounded beautiful as they sang Holy Is The Lord on the hay ride to the orchard.

We thank the Lord for what He is doing in our midst. We pray that we'll grow closer to Him and each other and that Circle of Friends will always be a place where every girl feels loved and encouraged.

School is Back!!

Dear Friend,
Starting a new school year can be very exciting and a little scary too. Buying school supplies, shopping for new clothes and meeting old friends can be fun but what about these?
*Frustration- Because you received you supply list so late you can’t find what you need at any store and all the cool stuff is gone.
*You have already figured out your out-fit for the first day of school and you know exactly where to get it and mom says: I don’t think so! (you know the reasons: too expensive; that is not for school; you don’t need it; etc.)
* Old friends? That’s cool! But what about the new people that you’ve never seen before, and the snobbish girl in the classroom, or the one who knows it all? (well, at least she thinks she does).Not only that but two of your best friends are in different houses or teams. Talk about anxiety?
* The worst one: You loved your teachers last year. This year is a whole different story. The Math teacher has a reputation of being the most difficult ever! The Social Studies teacher gives tests twice a week and the science teacher looks very strange..
* Don’t even mention that you are starting a new school and you don’t know anyone! Your excitement begins to fade and you are left with butterflies in your stomach.!

Relax! You have no reason to worry. Remember how much your Heavenly Father loves you and that He knows it all. Every single day of your life, every supply in your list, every desire in your heart, every concern in your mind. It does not take a big brainier to know how to solve this matter: Give it all back to Jesus. Make all your requests known to Him. He is listening to you girl!! Share it all and know that the results are going to be A+.
The Lord says in His word: “For I know the plans I have for you.” Says the Lord “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Than you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”.
(Jeremiah 29:11)
The best way to start a new year is to give your life to Jesus. If you have already done that, continue to walk with Him. If you haven’t, you can do it in a simple prayer: Dear Jesus, please forgive me from my sins and cleanse my heart. Come into my life and be my Savior. Give me your peace and love and be my Helper. Amen!
Once you do that your name is written in the most wonderful book of all: The Book of Life and there is no better place to be!

NEWS FROM THE CIRCLE11

It was great seeing everyone on Saturday. The girls had a chance to talk about their summer vacation and how they got ready for the new school year.

Going Deep Into God's Word is our theme this year and this is what we talked about at our first meeting:
It is true that we all get distracted by the our everyday business and can easily get caught up leaving no time for God. We talked about a typical school day, with homework, studies, sports. We included time with family and friends and also how technology is a big distraction. We talked about priorities and ways to help us set a daily time in God's presence:
- Ask God to help you
- Pick the best time of the day to pray and read the bible
- Choose a bible translation that is easy to understand
- Have a journal or devotional book

Our next meeting is Saturday, October 10th. Remember we are starting @ 3:00 and ending @ 5:30PM. Come ready to sing praises to the Lord as we practice with Lisa Lynne.
